Jenna Adkins, MA, LPC

Hello!

I’m Jenna and I am a native of Barboursville, West Virginia where I was born and raised. I pursued my undergraduate education through Marshall University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and minored in pyschology, geography, and history. These areas of study encouraged me to develop a deeper understanding of the unique experiences that shape each of us and how we make meaning from these throughout life, and ultimately, I was led to pursue my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During this time, I completed my certificate in Violence, Loss, and Trauma and interned with and worked for the West Virginia Autism Training Center to research and practice trauma-informed interventions with neurodiverse adults.

In 2023 I transitioned to work in private practice at New Horizons Therapy Services in Teays Valley, West Virginia where I support individuals and families across the lifespan. I seek to aid my clients in improving their quality of life at the individual, community, and systemic levels through a person-centered approach. I have had the privilege of pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision through Waynesburg University since 2024. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with my cats Simba and Syl.
